Through this website, we invite you to learn about the life and achievements of the man behind American Kenpo Karate – the martial art system that revolutionized the martial arts world. The legacy of Ed Parker Sr. lives on through the wisdom and discipline of those who worked with him, learned from him, and follow his principles.
The International Kenpo Karate Association originated in 1956 as the Kenpo Karate Association of America. It was registered with the State of California for the purposes of governing Kenpo in the continental U.S. The K.K.A.A. was changed to the I.K.K.A. in 1960 when association members began migrating to foreign countries.
The I.K.K.A. is a licensee of and an independent entity separate from KAM IV Inc., the I.K.K.A. has been granted authority and permissions to use Ed Parker Sr.’s Intellectual Properties by license agreement with KAM IV Inc. The I.K.K.A. is the only Kenpo/Kempo association or organization that is legally authorized to use Ed Parker Sr. Intellectual Properties. Please visit our I.K.K.A. Only I.K.K.A. members and or affilaite clubs or schools in good standing are permitted to use any Ed Parker Sr.’s trademarked Kenpo Karate system as well as his proprietary materials including but not limited to, system curriculum, books, recordings, videos, logos, designs, images or other materials (collectively “Proprietary Rights”) granted to the I.K.K.A. by KAM IV Inc.
